Together, we are a very small part of the Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS) and the Trauma Informed Care (TIC) teams for the district and our respective schools we spend most of our time in.
We are here to provide parents, teachers, and students with resources to support the learning circumstances of our district's students. In lieu of the experiences the nation is facing currently, we want to make sure that parents have a place to turn to if they are in need of specific resources to support their students in the areas: social/emotional/behavioral support, anxiety, feelings, mental health support, among many more.
PBIS: a framework or approach comprised of intervention practices and organizational systems for establishing the social culture, learning and teaching environment, and individual behavior supports needed to achieve academic and social success for all students.”
(Sugai, et al, 2010)
District TIC Mission: As a district, we will eliminate barriers and dispel myths surrounding trauma and treat all students and staff as if they were a trauma survivor.
District TIC Core Values: Safety
Trustworthiness and Transparency
Peer Support
Collaboration and Mutuality
Empowerment, Voice, and Choice
Cultural, Historical, and Gender Issues
